PrimeScan from GT Vision Ltdย is a revolutionary, great value for money, easy to use microscope slide scanner. The design of PrimeScan is mainly aimed for scanning of biological prepared slides including histology, cytology, botany and zoology.ย PrimeScan is able to scan any transparent specimen mounted on a standard 1 x 3 inch cover slipped glass slide.ย  With easy to operate/set up features,ย PrimeScanย can digitalise any specimen within seconds.

The scanner comes with HistoView, an editing software package combined with a hardware driver, for scanning and adjusting the quality parameters of the captured images on both Windows and Mac OS working environments. PrimeScan can save the scanned image in various image formats such as TIFF, BMP and JPEG formats.

As a new generation of histology scanner PrimeScan provides the capability to accommodate most slide samples and further can scan whole slide image within the scanning area of 24.3×36.5 mm. PrimeScan also produces high resolution images, up to 10,000 dpi that are suitable for use within a wide variety of microscope applications particularly useful in teaching, in consultative situations and for when fast results are required. ย This scanner has become a standard accessory in many university teaching laboratories and lecture theatres.
